Abraham Maynard Badway, 91, passed away in his Wyomissing residence, Friday, March 5, 2021.
He was the loving husband of Dorothy Laura (DeRoner) Badway. They were married on September 25, 1951, and shared nearly 70 years of marriage.
Born in Easton, he was the son of the late James and Cowcab (Canone) Badway.
He graduated from Easton Catholic in 1947 and Lafayette College. Abraham proudly served his country in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict.
He was a transportation and purchasing manager for Western Electric until his retirement. Later he served as the bookkeeper for the Clover Park Athletic Association until December of last year.
Abraham was a member of St. Ignatius Roman Catholic Church, Whitfield. He loved Notre Dame and was also a member of the Ivy Leaf Association of Reading.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his five children: Dr. David (Andrea) Badway, Pittsburgh; Douglas (Beth) James, Shillington; Daniel Badway, Shillington; Donna (Matthew) Smith, Shillington; and Dale Badway, Largo, FL; and 11 grandchildren. He was predeceased by three siblings: Joseph Badway, Helen Melhem, and Elliot Badway.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 11, 2021, at 10:00 am at St. Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church 2810 St. Albans Drive, Sinking Spring, PA 19608. A viewing will be held Thursday, March 11, 2021, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at the church. Entombment will follow at Gethsemane Mausoleum.
