Obituary for Adriana Torchia
Adriana (Catani) Torchia, aged 94, passed away on September 11, 2023, at the residence of her daughter in Shillington, surrounded by her beloved family, and has now gone to be with the Lord.
Her husband, Antonio G. Torchia, died on January 1, 2005.
Adriana was born in Caccuri, Italy, to the late Serafino and Irma (Venturi) Catani.
She was employed as a seamstress by David Crystal and Camp Industries.
Adriana held family and faith in high regard and was a member of Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church in Reading.
Adriana enjoyed making original crafts, knitting, and had a profound passion for crafting Swarovski beaded jewelry.
Adriana is survived by her two daughters, Lucia, wife of Kevin Thompson, Shillington, and Raffaella Torchia, Natick, MA; her dear friend Molly Ambrose, Natick, MA; as well as her grandson, Michael, husband of Lindsay Thompson, Shillington, and two great-grandsons, Weston Thompson and Wyatt Thompson. She is also survived by her two siblings in Italy, Franco, husband of Elena Catani, and Carla Timpano, widow of Angelo, and many nieces and nephews, both in the United States and in Italy.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday September 15, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, Reading, with burial to follow at Gethsemane Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Adriana’s memory to the American Heart Association, 1617 John F Kennedy Blvd # 700, Philadelphia, PA 19103. Edward J.
