Obituary for Ann Best
Ann (Reider) Best,78, passed away December 15, 2022, in her Bern Township residence.
Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Malcolm J., Sr., and Mildred “Rita” (Laws) Reider.
Ann worked side by side with her sister to build the family business M.J. Reider Associates Inc., an Environmental Testing Laboratory. Her hard work and dedication helped it become what it is today. She started right out of college as an analyst, for years was their microbiologist, and finally a technical director before retiring in 2012.
Ann was an adventure seeker who enjoyed traveling all over the country with her best friend and husband in their motor home. Some destinations that they adventured to include most of the continental US, Alaska, Nova Scotia, and several provinces in Canada. One of their all-time favorite trips was the drive from PA to Key West, Florida with their family, as their children were growing up. Ann loved her family and looked forward to frequent visitations from her kids, grandkids and grand puppies. She was a bright soul who was adored by many, and the world was a better place with her in it.
Ann is survived by her three children: Christina M. Kistler, wife of Thad, Wyomissing; James C. Best, Jr., "Jamie," husband of Melissa Fisher, Leesport; and Michael P. Best, husband of Jennifer (Klikus) Best, Leesport; three siblings: Malcolm J., Jr., husband of Sandra Reider, Mary Reider Payne, and Barbara Reider Coyle; and four grandchildren: Savannah Kistler, Brock Kistler, Tyler Best and Hunter Best.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Services are to follow at 11:00 am. All events will take place at the Kuhn Funeral Home in West Reading, PA.
