Obituary for Ann K. Boulis

Ann Kathryn Boulis, age 53, passed away peacefully June 16, 2022 at home surrounded by family. She was born on June 24, 1968 at Fort Gordon in Augusta, GA. Ann was the beloved daughter of Matthew Boulis and the late Renie Boulis. She is survived by her cherished husband of 23 years, Constantine Harris, her two daughters Sophia and Renie Harris (ages 19 and 16), and her brother Nicholas Boulis.

Ann grew up in Moorestown, NJ, graduating from Moorestown High School in 1985. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Public Affairs from the Woodrow Wilson School at Princeton University in 1991, Master of Public Policy in the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University in 1993, and a PhD in Medical Sociology and Demography from the University of Pennsylvania in 2000.

After completing her doctorate, Ann moved with her family to Wyomissing, PA. She had limitless dedication supporting her two daughters in their educational and athletic pursuits. Throughout the years Ann also inspired the next generation of Sociologists as a Professor at Temple University, Kutztown University, Albright College, and at the time of her death, she was an Adjunct Professor at Alvernia University. Ann authored The Changing Face of Medicine: Women Doctors and the Evolution of Health Care in America, a medical school textbook published in 2008.

Ann Boulis lived a life defined by family, friendship, and thoughtfulness. She was an ardent activist for social justice. Ann stimulated new ideas and perspectives with a unique intensity and sense of humor. She had a passion for the outdoors. She will be profoundly missed and forever loved.

Family and friends are welcome to visit the family on Sunday, June 19, 2022, from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading.
