Anthony F. Talarico 75, born May 30, 1947 of Reading, PA sadly passed away on May 2, 2023. He was the loving husband of Jennifer Hain Talarico.
Tony grew up on 338 Chestnut street. His parents Angeline and Felix were both an important part of Talarico’s Tailor shop in the city of Reading. Anthony and family attended Holy Rosary church, and he graduated from Reading High School, and later attended Kutztown University. He was a proud lifelong club member and volunteer at Victor Emmanuel II, beneficial society.
Tony served in the army and was a Vietnam War Veteran. One of his proudest moments was a special presentation at City Park, receiving his service and valor medals 46 years after his service. Most notable was the Bronze Star with a Combat “V” device for valor, one of the highest individual awards given for acts of heroism. A true fighter with a giant spirit to match.
Tony dedicated over 30 years of his life teaching history and social studies in the classrooms of Southwest and Northwest middle school for the Reading School District. He inspired many of his students and colleagues with his humor and quick wit, and many former students remember “Mr. T” as their favorite teacher!
He was first married to the late Judith Talarico, of Reading. Tony and Judy were known for their kindness, hospitality, and treating everyone they knew like family. Caring values they always shared with those around them.
Both during and after teaching, Tony enjoyed working in real estate for Long and Foster & Berkshire Hathaway, and made many great friends along the way. He loved traveling to Ocean City for St. Patrick’s Day with his wife Jen, and his crew of both family and friends.
He was especially known for his great sense of humor and smile which he carried with him straight through the end of his life. Even in his last days, he still tried to make those around him laugh. Tony was very proud of his two sons, Nick and Dan and his grandchildren, Noah, Nate, and Vincent. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Tony is survived by his wife Jennifer Talarico, her daughter Kayla, and husband Kyle Ziegler.
His son Nicholas, wife Mandy, and their two sons Noah and Nate. Along with his second son Daniel, and his son Vincent. Also by his sister, Joanne Skinner, daughter Gina Ramos and her son Ellis. Predeceased by his brother in law, Jim Skinner, and his nephew, John Taylor.
The family would like to thank those that sent well wishes, caring thoughts special visits, and prayers during Tony’s health decline. We are thankful for all of you.
