Obituary for Anthony F. Piazza

Anthony “Tony” F. Piazza, 93, husband of Annamarie “Amy”(Gich) Piazza, passed away Monday, May 8, 2023 surrounded by his loving family.

He was a son of the late Frank and Lillian (Zummo) Piazza.

Tony served in the US Armed Forces in the 199th Engineers.

Tony was a resident of North Coventry Township for 66 years until recently moving to Douglassville, PA. He was an active member of St. Thomas More R.C. Church since the parish was established and a church choir member for 50 years. He was a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus – Father Bally Council. Tony was a plumber by trade from teen years to retirement. He trained and worked for David W. Martin for years before becoming self-employed. He opened and operated Save-Way Supply in South Pottstown, and he was a property manager and contractor.

Along with his wife, Tony is survived by a daughter Susan Bauer (Kerry), grandchildren, Ryan A. Bauer (Morgan) and Leah M. Messing (Rick). Two loving great grandchildren Shea M. Messing and Russell A. Bauer.

Tony is predeceased by three infant children, and siblings, Albert F. Piazza, Catherine Kutsch and Albert J. Piazza.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at St. Thomas More R.C. Church, Pottstown, from 9:30 a.m. till 11 a.m. Mass will follow at 11 a.m. in the Church.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Birthright of Pottstown, St. Thomas More Outreach, or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
