Obituary for Audrey M. Pinkos

Audrey Marie (Froutz) Pinkos, known to some as “Sis”, 91, wife of the late John Pinkos, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 30, 2022 at Hanover Hospital, Hanover PA. Her former residence was at the South End of Franklin Street in Pottstown, PA

Born in Mt. Carmel, PA she was a daughter of the late Carl and Audrey (Markle) Froutz Sr.

Audrey had a passion for reading. She enjoyed watching Elvis movies and listening to his music. Also knitting and crocheting, solving word search puzzles, watching game shows and the Hallmark TV movie channel. Audrey was a proud member of St. Peter’s RC church women’s guild and being a band mom for the St. Pius X High School Band.

She enjoyed employment as an assistant manager of Pottstown’s Hippodrome/Towne movie theater and manager of the North End Fox movie theater. After the family straightened out their household from hurricane Agnes in 1972, she was employed until her retirement at Mrs. Smith’s Pies/Kelloggs in the payroll department.

Prior to becoming John’s, post stroke, primary caretaker she enjoyed bowling and volunteered at PMMC, was a member of the Red Cross and helped with the Salvation Army food bank. She also enjoyed traveling and exploring new places. When driving to their Long Neck Delaware vacation home, she always said, “let’s see where this road takes us” before GPS became available.

She is survived by 4 loving daughters: Audrey (& Jack) Schaeffer of Pottstown & Millsboro DE, Marie Lord of Millsboro DE, Ellen Nye of Deale MD and Ruthann Pinkos of Hanover PA (with whom she resided). A sister, Arletta (& Eric) Osmer, a sister-in-law June (Carl Sr.) Froutz and several Grandchildren: Jack Schaeffer Jr, Michelle (& Michael) Piccione, Audrey (& Chad) Miller, Corinne (& Jonathan) Schappell, Michael (& Amanda) Lord, Robin (& Meagan) Nye, Melisa Crowe, and Renee Nye. Also 22 loving and wonderful Great Grandchildren.

Along with her deceased husband and parents, Audrey is predeceased by siblings: Emily Endres, Carl Froutz Jr., Raymond Froutz, Lois Cahoon, and August Froutz.

A public viewing will be held on Friday August 5, 2022 at 10 A.M. to 11 A.M. at St. Teresa of Calcutta, 256 Swamp Pike, Schwenksville. A mass will follow at 11 A.M. in the Church.

Burial will be in St. Aloysius New Cemetery, Buchert Road, Pottstown.

In Lieu of flowers contributions may be made to your local animal shelter. Audrey’s faithful four-legged companion, Roxie, is missing her.
