Obituary for Barbara A Greim

On Saturday February 4th, 2023 while at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Cedar Crest; Barbara Ann (Schadler) Greim completed her life on earth to begin her heavenly journey; she was 65. Born in Reading on February 21, 1957, Barbara was the first daughter to Kenneth & Ann (Grimes) Schadler.

She graduated from Reading Senior High School in 1975 and obtained her BA in music from Fontbonne University in St Louis Missouri. Barbara continued her education and achieved a Masters Degree in Education from Boston University. She also studied at Bedside Harps.

Barbara was a devoted wife to Douglas, for 42 years. She is survived by her son Jeffrey, his wife Nicole and 10 grandchildren. Barbara was a wonderful big sister to Lee Ann Degler wife of Roy Degler, Dorothy Ann Moyer wife of Brian Moyer and James Schalder, husband of Katrina. She was also the fabulous Aunt to Jacob Degler, husband of Amber; Jessica Michaels, wife of Matthew; Harley Katzaman, husband to Cassie; Natasha Corolla, wife of Jonathan and Vitali Borodin.

A devoted Catholic, she was a member of St Mary’s Parish in Hamburg. She had a heart of gold and even in her passing her spirit of giving continues as her final gift is restoring sight to 2 unknown individuals through organ donation.

Barbara was employed as a Program Specialist at Community Services Group since 2011, last working upon becoming ill in January of 2023. Previously she was a music Teacher/ Band director at Holy Name High School.

Barbara had a very beautiful voice and utilized her musical talents through Bedside Harps. Playing her harp and singing was a gift she could give to others. Her family and friends were important to her and she enjoyed spending time with them.

A time to celebrate her life will occur on Saturday February 18th, 2023 from 9:00 to 10:30 AM At St Mary’s Parish, 94 Walnut Road, Hamburg PA. A Memorial Mass will follow at 10:30 AM. Friends are invited to join the family at a luncheon following the services.

In Lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to St Mary’s Parish for a memorial bench in her honor to be placed at the Cemetery.
