Obituary for Barbara Jean Massie
Barbara Jean Massie, 75, of Reading passed away Saturday, September 24, 2022, in the care of Promedica Sinking Spring. She was the widow of John Loving Massie Jr.
Born in Reading to the late William and Elizabeth (Adams) Care, Barbara graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1964. She retired from Reading School District as a lunch aid and served in the different elementary schools as needed.
She was a member of Hampden Mennonite Church, Reading.
Left to treasure Barbara’s memory are her children: Charlotte Mistick of Pittsburgh; John L. Massie III (Denise) of Reading; William J. Massie (Carmen) of Reading; and Michael N. Massie of Reading; grandchildren: Kaylene Diaz; William J. Massie Jr.; and Damian Massie; great grandchildren: Milonee Oquendo; Jaymee Bigelow; Aurora Casiano; Carlos Diaz; and Ari’Ella Hill; and dear friends, Millie, Helen, and Marjorie. She was predeceased by her brother, Walter Care.
Services for Barbara will be held on Thursday, September 29, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc, 739 Penn Ave, West Reading, PA 19611, with committal to follow at Charles Evans Cemetery, Reading.
