Obituary for Barbara L. Neely (Ricketts)
Barbara L. (Ricketts) Neely, 79, went to be with her Lord on Friday, February 10, 2023.
She was the daughter of the late Raymond L. and Betty (Williams) Ricketts and was born on November 13, 1943 in Pottstown, Pennsylvania.
Barbara was baptized at an early age at Second Baptist Church in Pottstown, PA.
Barbara loved the Lord. She enjoyed spending time praising the Lord, praying, and studying his word. Crossword puzzles were her favorite pastime. Barbara loved watching sports and her favorite teams were the Sixers and Eagles.
Barbara enjoyed and loved her family. She spent time with each member and cherished each one of them. She was the pillar of the family, everyone knew they could come to her home to share a meal and feel special. She always had great advice and love to give to all of the family. She meant so much to all of her family, near and far.
Barbara leaves her memory behind to be cherished by her children, Renada Whitehurst (Willis) and Charles Jarrett Neely; siblings: Donna R. Collick (Ralph), Saundra B. Knuckles (Charles) and Raymond L. Ricketts III; six grandchildren: Natasha Watson, Tiarra Carpenter, Tyree Carpenter Jr., Malachi Neely, Nasya Neely and Cora Neely; Iana Acevedo; ten great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; uncle Bruce Ricketts; god-daughter’s Tecia Grinnage, Rae Ricketts; a host of nieces and nephews, and an abundance of cousins and friends.
A Homegoing service will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2023 promptly at 11 a.m. at Bethel Community Church, Pottstown, 575 N. Keim St. Pottstown, PA 19464. A viewing will be held prior to service in the Church from 9 a.m. till 11 a.m.
