Obituary for Barbara Ann Oswald

Barbara “Barb” Ann Manwiller Oswald, 71, formerly of Laureldale, passed away Friday March 13, 2020 in the residence she shared with her husband at Fairlane Gardens, Exeter. She and Edward E. Oswald were happily married for 28 loving years.

Born in Sellersville, Bucks County, Barb was the only child of the late Alfred and Eleanor (Eyre) Hetrick. She was a graduate of Penn Ridge High School.

A woman of great faith, Barb belonged to the Morning Star Fellowship, Bechtelsville, and later to Fleetwood Church. She sang in the choir, and was known for her beautiful voice. She enjoyed music that celebrated her faith.

Barb worked as a teacher’s assistant for Hamburg School district, but the role she took most seriously was her role as a mother. She loved her daughter dearly, and they did everything together.

Barb had the sort of personality that lite up a room with her smile. She was always happy, even during the worst of times.
In addition to her loving husband, Edward, Barb is survived by her only daughter, Melissa Manwiller, of Reading, and her adopted grandson, Michael, son of Kacey.

She is predeceased by her first husband, Gerald Manwiller.

In lieu of flowers, Barb’s family asks that contributions be made towards offsetting the costs of her funeral expenses. Checks may be payable to Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc. 739 Penn Ave, West Reading PA 19611, please memo Barbara Oswald service.

Services for Barbara will be celebrated privately. She will be laid to rest beside Gerald at Jerusalem Union Cemetery, Almont.
