Benjamin J. Cimochowski, 98, formerly of Reading, passed away August 20, 2018, at Manor at Market Square.

His wife, Anna (Jablonski) Cimochowski, to whom he was married for 68 years, died on January 25, 2010.

Born in Minersville, he was a son of the late John and Mary (Sidlik) Cimochowski.

He was a 1938 graduate of Pottsville High School.

Benjamin was a U.S. Army veteran serving during WWII in the 30th Infantry Division, Company H 120th.

He was employed as a carpenter for Local #192, Reading, for 50 years, retiring in 1986.

Benjamin was a member of St. Margaret’s Roman Catholic Church, Reading, for over 40 years.

He is survived by five children: Joan Marie, wife of Frank Krempl, Blandon; Judith, wife of Lee Cullen, Philadelphia; Maryann Mathews; Barbara Cimochowski; and Sandra Cimochowski. One sister, Jean Lauck, Pottsville; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren also survive him.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Joseph and Edwin Chimahosky.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 11 a.m. at Gethsemane Chapel of Resurrection with entombment to follow. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Margaret's Roman Catholic Church, 925 Centre Ave, Reading, PA 19601, or Berks County Veteran Affairs ,726 Cherry St., Reading, PA 19602. Edward J.
