Obituary for Beverly Ann Murphy

Beverly Ann (Fureman) Murphy, 73, of Wyomissing, passed away January 7, 2021, at St. Joseph Hospital.

Born in Palmyra, she was a daughter of the late Harry I. and Elmira Grace (Welty) Fureman.

Beverly earned a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education, serving as an educator in the Wyalusing School District in Home ec, second grade, kindergarten, and fourth grade for many years. Following retirement from Wyalusing, she taught at Lackawanna College while becoming a licensed local Methodist Pastor. She served as pastor to Silvara and South Auburn until she retired to spend more time with her grandchildren. She was honored to marry both of her daughters in the Camptown Community Church, where she was also a member.
Beverly was an avid Steelers fan, becoming quite spirited while watching games. She also enjoyed reading, crocheting, learning about the history of WWII and watching her grandchildren play sports, and ride horses.

She is survived by two children, Dr. Kimberly M. (Robert) Rauenzahn D.O. and Colleen M. (Sergey) Kononov, Exeter Township; two siblings, Debra, widow of James Fisher, Hummelstown and Donald (Jenna) Fureman, Palmyra and four grandchildren, Noah, Sasha, Aaron and Grace. She leaves behind three beautiful nieces and four admiring nephews, as well as her Brazilian family. She is also leaves behind her spouse, Glenn E. Murphy.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
