Obituary for Charles L. Stoudt
Charles L. Stoudt, 76, of Temple, passed away in his residence on Thursday, April 20, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He was the loving husband of Carol A. (Heffner), whom he married on March 3, 2000.
Born in Reading to the late Charles H. and Ruth M. (Stone) Stoudt, Chuck graduated from Reading High School before serving in the United States Army. He retired as a Tow Motor Operator from Carpenter Tech. in 2008 after a 30-year career.
He was a member of Zion Spies Lutheran Church.
Chuck was a lifetime member of the West Wyomissing, Temple, and Blandon Fire Companies. He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 71 and of the Reading Co Boosters Club.
He enjoyed everything about Sprint Car and NASCAR racing. He loved nights spent at the Reading Fair Grounds Racetrack, and he worked on the pit crew with Tim Higgins.
Left to treasure Chuck’s memory is his wife, Carol; his children, John R. (Nicole), Robert M. (Christina), and C. Thomas (Jo Ann) Stoudt; stepson, Jeffery (Kelly) LaFaver; grandchildren, Jordan, Ali, Korinn, Kendall, Andrew, Jacob, Samantha, and Daniele; step grandchildren, Josh and Kaitlyn; and great grandchildren Westin and Charlotte. He is also survived by his goddaughters, Tina Phillips and Wendy Stamm.
A committal service with military honors will be held on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Paul’s Union Cemetery, 380 Park Rd, Fleetwood, PA 19522. Friends and family are meeting at 12:30 p.m. Kuhn Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc, 5153 Kutztown Rd, Temple, PA 19560, to process to the cemetery. Condolences may be expressed at kuhnfuneralhomes.com.
