Obituary for Chester Stanley Shehoski

Chester Stanley Shehoski, 91, of Sinking Spring, PA passed away Friday, February 12, 2021. He was born January 21, 1930, at home, the second youngest and last surviving of twelve siblings born to the late Franciszek and Stephania (Olshefski) Szychowski of Alden Station, Luzerne County, PA. He served in the Korean conflict as a tank commander and returned to join his brothers in the construction industry, favoring carpentry. He followed that with a lifetime professional career in Insurance, retiring as Vice President of Risk Management for Penske Corporation. He enjoyed using his carpentry skills on constructing carports, decks, and additions on his family’s homes as well as friends' throughout the county. His pride in his Polish heritage was only surpassed by his pride of family. He preferred a slow Polish waltz to a quick stepping polka, and has left three generations with video of his skilled Boombas playing.

He married Lucille (Chrzan) in 1958, who predeceased him in 2017. His only son, Jon Shehoski, predeceased him in 2004. He was also predeceased by brothers: John, Anthony, Alexander, Stanley and Frank; sisters: Bridget, Mary, Sophie, Anna, Adelia and Frances. He was a member of St. John the Baptist de la Salle Roman Catholic Church of Shillington.

His memory will be immortalized in the hearts of his daughters: Lisa S. (Michael) Hoover, Sugarloaf, PA; and LuAnn (James) Kittredge, Hatboro, PA. He is larger than life itself to grandchildren: Matthew (Joy) Shehoski, Gilbertsville; Andrew (Sarah) Coco, Sinking Spring; Sarah (Jay) Calixto, North Hollywood, CA; Adam Travis, Brooklyn, NY; Liam Kittredge, Seattle, WA; Dylan Kittredge, Hatboro, PA; and three great-grandchildren, Tanner Shehoski, Isabelle Coco and Maxwell Coco.
