Obituary for Christena A. Bertolet
Christena A. (Garvie) Bertolet, 79, of Cumru Township, passed away December 17, 2020, at the Reading Hospital.
Born in New York City, NY, she was a daughter of the late Andrew A. and Barbara C. (Kral) Garvie.
She was a graduate of Central Catholic High School.
Christena was a member of St. Benedict’s Roman Catholic Church, Mohnton.
She enjoyed Jazz music, going to the Reading Symphony Orchestra, vacationing at the beach, cruises and her favorite was family gatherings for any occasion.
Christena is survived by two children, Wellington M. Bertolet, III, San Francisco, CA and Jeanne Bertolet Styer, Kenhorst, PA also two sisters, Barbara, widow of Steven Hummel, York, PA and June, wife of Larry Livinghouse, Michigan, IN and four grandchildren: Chelsea and Ashley Bertolet and Jessica and Autumn Styer and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, William H. Garvie.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday December 29, 2020, at 11 a.m. at St. Benedict Roman Catholic Church, 2020 Chestnut Hill Rd, Mohnton, PA 19540. Burial will be private. Friends may call Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Animal Rescue League, 58 Kennel Rd., Birdsboro, PA 19508 or the American Cancer Society, 3893 Adler Place Suite 170, Bethlehem, PA 18017.
