Claire M. (Heisler) Fruchter, 96, passed away on Friday, February 11, 2022, at her home in Reading, PA. She was married to the love of her life, the late Morris Fruchter until his passing in June, 1992.
Born in Reading, PA, she was the daughter of her beloved mother Dorothy (Martin) Heisler. Claire graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1942. She was last employed as a caseworker for the Department of Public Welfare until her retirement in 1987.
Claire was a long-time member of St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church, Reading. She was a great lover of animals, especially dogs. After her retirement volunteered at the Humane Society under Linde Scholar.
She is survived by her daughter, Phyllis A. Lawler of Reading, PA, and her nieces and nephews: Mark Fruchter (Saundra), Barbara Epstein (Jeff), David Weiss, Eric Weiss, Andrea Smith, great nieces and nephews and their families.
Claire is predeceased by her sister, Rosemarie Hargenrader.
A memorial visitation will be held Saturday, March 5, 2022, from 11:00 am to 12:30 p.m. at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. Inurnment will commence at a later day at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Claire M. Fruchter to the Animal Rescue League, 58 Kennel Rd, Birdsboro, PA.
