Obituary for Cynthia Odele Jimenez

Cynthia Odele (Reinhart) Jimenez, 88, of Wyomissing, passed away January 11, 2021, at ManorCare, West Reading.

Born in Wyomissing, she was the daughter of the late Russell Lloyd and Ruth Eulalia (Snyder) Reinhart.

She was a 1949 graduate of Reading High School and a 1953 graduate of Albright College earning a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics.

Cynthia was employed by General Electric as a computer programmer for 20 years, retiring in 1985. While at GE she contributed to SNAP-27, which was the power supply used by NASA and left on the surface of the moon by Apollo astronauts. One of the units was on display at the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum for many years.

She is survived by three children: Amy, wife of Steve Cicalese, Maricopa, AZ, Ivon, wife of Robert Charles Kellogg, Manhattan Beach, CA and Humberto, husband of Lisa Jimenez, Elizabethtown PA; and 5 grandchildren, Alex Louis Cicalese, Humberto Antonio Jimenez, Juan Carlos Jimenez, Litza Chelena Jimenez, and Robert Nicholas Kellogg.

Cynthia is survived by two brothers, Jerry Reinhart and Peter Reinhart, and was predeceased by one brother Bruce Reinhart and daughter Litza Jimenez.

She supported and was actively involved in various environmental and women's rights organizations most of her life, including in leadership positions. She was also active in the Berks County Association for Graveyard Preservation, and belonged to the Berks County Genealogical Society and the historical societies of Berks County and several surrounding counties.
