Obituary for Daniel T. Trout

Daniel “Danny” Trout, 84, formerly of Wyomissing, peacefully passed away at home in the early morning of Friday March 5, 2021.

He was the loving and devoted husband of JoEllen (Di Blasi) Trout for 46 years. They married November 8, 1974.

Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Raymond “Jimmy” and Arlene (Hupp) Trout.

Danny was a graduate of Reading High School and was loyal to his Red Knights. Most Friday nights, Danny could be found at a football or basketball game cheering them on to victory. His love for the Red Knights extended beyond football and basketball, as he was a board member of the Red Knights Boosters Club. Danny often spoke of his memories growing up and the time he spent at the Olivet Boys Club.

He was a dedicated employee of UGI for 40 years and enjoyed his part time work at Croll and Keck where he had an impeccable eye for pairing the right suit, tie, dress shirt, and shoes. After retirement, he spent his time working at Gold Toe and for the County of Berks.

Most importantly was the immense and timeless love he had for his family. He will forever live on through the extraordinary memories they created together.

We will miss his smile and gentle voice, a true gentleman. He will be remembered for the love and laughter he brought to life and will truly be missed by his family and grandchildren who affectionately knew him as “Pop."

In addition to his wife JoEllen, he is survived by four children: Greg, husband of Gretchen (Strange) Trout of Derwood MD.; Timothy Trout, of Stuart FL.; Andrea Trout of Fort Lauderdale FL.; and Danielle (Trout), wife of Matthew Koons, of Collegeville, PA. Four grandchildren: Shelby and Johanna Trout and Tyler and Gavin Koons also survive him.

He was predeceased by his brother, Carey Trout.
