Obituary for Darlene M. Cehlar (Care)
Darlene M. (Care) Cehlar, 79, wife of Joseph F. Cehlar Jr., passed away Friday, January 27, 2023 at the Reading Hospital Tower Health.
She was a daughter of the late James W. and Luba M. (Tezak) Care of Birdsboro.
Darlene retired from Montgomery County Geriatric Center/Park House, where she worked in the personnel office. Darlene had previously worked at Covatta’s Brinton Lodge.
Darlene enjoyed traveling and sailing with Joe, visiting with friends, and cooking. She was a voracious reader of historical novels and cooking magazines.
Along with her husband, Darlene is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth McCrea and husband Brett of North Carolina, her grandchildren, Ryan McCrea and Amanda McCrea, and her brother, Douglass Care of Pottstown.
Darlene is predeceased by her siblings, Brian Care of Reading and Rochelle Potter of Birdsboro.
During the last few years, Darlene’s Cavapoo, Penny, brought joy to her life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Berks County Humane Society.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 1,2023 from 10a.m. till 11a.m. at the Warker-Troutman Funeral Home Inc, Pottstown. A service will follow at 11a.m. at the funeral home.
