Obituary for David Calvin Pauley

David C. Pauley, 74, of Reading, passed away suddenly Saturday, May 22, 2021. In June he would have celebrated his 45th anniversary with his wife, Deborah E. (Moser) Pauley.

Born in Reading to the late Edward F. Pauley and AnnaMae (Zimmerly) Pauley Bricker, David graduated in 1964 from Reading High School. As a senior participating in the co-op program, he started working at the former Cash and Carry, now known as C&S Logistics, where he retired in 2015 after 51 years of service.

David was a true family man who valued tradition. He loved weekly trips to the Fairgrounds Market with his girls. He was a connoisseur of classic sitcoms and family television.

He was a member of Riverview Christian Fellowship.

In addition to his beloved wife, Deborah, David’s memory will be treasured by their daughters: Diana E. Naftzinger (Jamie) of Muhlenberg; Donna E. Sekulski (Tyler) of West Lawn; and Dana C. Pauley of Reading. He is also survived by his granddaughters, Emersyn Naftzinger and Ruby Sekulski, and his brother, Daniel L. Pauley (Michelle) of Muhlenberg.

David was recently predeceased by his brother, Mark W. Pauley, Sr., who is survived by his wife, Linda Pauley, of Sinking Spring.

Funeral services for David, led by his pastor, John Letterman, will be held on Friday, May 28, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading, with burial following at Forest Hills Memorial Park. A viewing will be held for David on Thursday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM and again Friday morning from 10:30 AM until the start of services at the funeral home.
