David G. Takacs, 78, husband of the loving Debra (Jones) Takacs, passed away July 17, 2023 at the Reading Hospital with his family by his side.

He was a son of the late Paul and Mary (Ruyak) Takacs.

David was a proud Navy Veteran. He served four years during Vietnam aboard the USS Tripoli LPH-10. After his service, David worked for Dana Corporation of Pottstown for 36 years. Upon retirement, he worked part time at The Hill School and Riverside Beverages. David enjoyed golfing, playing darts, and bowling. He loved to be outside in his yard with his dogs and waving hi to all his neighbors. He was very proud to be a lifelong resident of Pottstown. Some of his favorite pastimes include trips to the mountains with friends, watching his grandson play ice hockey, and watching his granddaughter ride horses. David was also especially fond of his grand dog, Lacey, who loved to visit and snuggle with him.

Along with his wife, David is survived by his daughter, Liana Alford (husband Brent), two grandchildren, Madelyn and Jacob Alford, siblings, Jane Embody and Ronald Takacs, and five nieces and one nephew.

Donations in David’s name may be made to Malvern Retreat House 315 S Warren Ave, Malvern, PA 19355. Memorial services will be private.
