Obituary for David A. Yates
David Arthur Yates, 84, passed away on Friday, February 18, 2022, in his Wyomissing residence.
He was born in New Bedford, MA, to Arthur and Edith (Sherratt) Yates on February 20, 1937. David graduated from Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering. He was last employed by Alcon as the Manager of Regulatory Affairs and Documentation until his retirement in 2007.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Johanna Yates; two daughters, Peggy Marshall and Patty Schmitz; six grandchildren: Jillian, Jakob, Kathryn, Sarah, David, and Alyson; and four great-grandchildren: Monte, Sloane, Josephine and Christopher.
He was predeceased by his brother, Kenneth Yates.
A visitation will be held Saturday, February 26, 2022, from 10:00 to 10:30 a.m. at St. Ignatius Loyola Church, Whitfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. with interment to follow at Gethsemane Cemetery.
