Obituary for Deanna Mary Hoyt (Lorello)

“Notice of Life” – Deanna Mary Hoyt
Choose Joy!

Don’t wait for things to get easier, simpler, better. Life will always be complicated. Learn to be happy right now. Otherwise, you’ll run out of time.

Deanna Mary Hoyt of Sinking Spring Pennsylvania went home to her heavenly Father on December 23, 2020. Deanna was 61 years old and a senseless victim of the Coronavirus pandemic. She is survived by her husband John and beloved Chihuahua Violet. Deanna’s life was the personification of choosing Joy. Her only wish was to love and be loved.

Deanna was born in Brooklyn NY and graduated from Kings Park High School in Kings Park NY. Later in life she completed a bachelor’s degree in Culinary Arts at the New York Institute of Technology in Central Islip NY. During her education there she participated in The International Restaurant & Food Service Show at the Javits Center in New York City and won several awards given to students for their creative food sculptures. Deanna’s favorite was her depiction of the genie from Aladdin created in fondant. This time in her life was filled with the excitement of learning new things. Deanna would frequently say “I love knowledge”.

Deanna moved to Pennsylvania in 2011 and continued her creative endeavors by working on recovery-based art to express her healing from addiction and spiritual journey in recovery. This became the passion of her life. She would frequently ask other people from the Reading recovery community questions like “Describe your concept of a Higher Power” and use their answers as inspiration for her art. She would also use the pain and brokenness she perceived in the world at large to create visual depictions for others to see. Her hope was to inspire people to look inside themselves for their own pain and encourage those who did so to find a way out. Deanna believed healing was possible for all who sought it and helped countless women on their journey in sobriety. She touched more lives than she was aware. She will be deeply missed by those who knew her best.

Deanna is predeceased by her beloved father Eugene E. Lorello of Ronkonkoma NY. Deanna is also survived by her children Jared and Kimberly, as well as her five grandchildren, Shane, Tyler, Brandon, Elana and Elizabeth. A small private service has already been held at Kuhn Funeral Home where Deanna received gentle and loving care. Her remains were cremated in accordance with her wishes. Her husband John hopes to organize a celebration of life gathering in May or June when public health concerns allow for a larger gathering. Deanna’s artwork will be displayed there as well as pictures of her journey in life. Information will be communicated through her friends in the recovery community.

Deanna will be deeply missed by her family and friends and there is a hole in our lives that will not soon be filled. In keeping with Deanna’s spirit of giving we ask people that wish to honor her memory donate to their favorite charity or volunteer their time in service to others in need. May God bless Deanna’s soul and may she spend eternity in the sunlight of the spirit.

Kuhn Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Temple is honored to serve Deanna's family. Condolences may be expressed at www.kuhnfuneralhomes.com.

Just read Deanna's beautiful thoughts and advice in this obit.

Never met her, or knew anything about her prior to this morning. But it's evident she had an exceptional insight into life and freely communicated it, and used it to help others. She will certainly be cherished and missed by those she touched while here.
