Obituary for Denise Chasse

Joy Denise Bryan Chasse, 63, joined her Lord and past loved ones in Heaven on Saturday, February 6, 2021. She was born in Bainbridge, GA on July 29, 1957 to Betty Chestnut and Ted Bryan.

Denise was a proud and devoted mother of three children; Stephen (Allison) Bryan of Sinking Spring, PA, Miranda (Andy) Soisson of York, PA and Heather (Paul) Bixler of West Reading, PA; and ten grandchildren (Maslyn, Cole, Patrick, Parker, Kendall, Logan, Bethany, Avery, Brieanna and Kenzy) that knew her fondly as “Grammy D” and will miss playing games and being silly with her.

Denise is also survived by her father, Ted Bryan Sr. of Colquitt, GA; brother Ted (Lyn) Bryan Jr. of Colquitt, GA; sisters Debra (John) Schilling of Albany, GA, Donna (Pucho) Collazo of Columbus, GA, Sonya Scalf of Tennessee, Brenda (Marc) Pollock of Bainbridge, GA, Sherri (Gary) Ellison of Bainbridge, GA and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her mother Betty Chesnut, stepmother Betty Bryan and grandparents Leora and Mercer Bryan; Grace and George Chambless; Henry and Carolyn Chestnut.

Denise was a nurse her entire career and was very devoted, caring and giving to her patients. Family and friends were very important to Denise and she will be missed by so many in which she positively impacted throughout her life with her smile, laughter and fun-loving nature. Denise was part of the GT Church in West Lawn and was very devoted to the Lord, her church family and her small Bible study group. Denise was looking forward to moving back home to Georgia to enjoy retirement with her siblings and extended family.

To honor Denise’s life, visitation services will be held on Wednesday, February 10 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Kuhn Funeral Home in West Reading, PA. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Children’s Defense Fund in support of kids in need.

Denise's service will be webcast on her page on the Kuhn site Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.

A Celebration of Life will also be held in her hometown of Colquitt, GA at a later date to be announced. Condolences may be expressed at www.kuhnfuneralhomes.com.
