Obituary for Donald R. Klein
Donald R. Klein, 92, formerly of Lincoln Park, passed away January 29, 2019 in the Reading Hospital.
He was the beloved husband of Mary C. (Sheeler) Klein, with whom he would have celebrated 67 years of marriage on March 6th.
Born in West Reading, he was the son of the late Paul G. and M. Luella (Snyder) Klein.
Donald was a 1944 graduate of West Reading, and a 1950 graduate of PA Military College, Chester.
He was a United States Army Veteran serving during World War II.
Donald was a member of Lincoln Park United Methodist Church.
He was employed by Western Electric as an Industrial Engineer for 29 years until retiring in 1985.
Donald was a Master Gardener and also past president of American Institute of Industrial Engineers Reading Chapter.
He enjoyed fishing, camping, boating and playing chess. He loved traveling to Rehoboth Beach and spending time with his family. He was a life long Philadelphia Phillies fan.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two sons, Andrew C., husband of Tracy (Klopp) Klein, McMinnville, OR; and Kevin R., husband of Cathy (Drapcho) Klein, Port Matilda, PA. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Brianna Klein, Denver, CO; Timothy, husband of Stacy Klein, McMinnville, OR; Catherine, wife of Robert Bradley, Washington, MO; and Richard Klein, Grenoble, France; and two great-grandchildren, Jacob Klein and Zoe Bradley.
Donald was predeceased by two siblings, Kenneth Klein and Dorothy Koch.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Monday, February 4, 2019, at 2 p.m. in Phoebe Berks, 1 Reading Dr., Wernersville, PA 19565. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions in honor of Donald can be made to Phoebe Berks, at the above address or Lincoln Park United Methodist Church, 1 Carlisle Ave., Reading, PA 19609. Edward J.
