Donald G. Kreitz, Sr., 85, of Sinking Spring passed away on August 7, 2022 at Rittenhouse Village Muhlenberg.
He was a son of the late Paul Kreitz, Sr. and Gladys (Showaker) Kreitz.
He was a 1954 graduate of Wilson High School.
Donald was owner of Kreitz Oval Track Parts, Inc. in Sinking Spring and he also owned Kreitz Welding & Fabrication, Inc. from 1971 to 2017. He was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ in Shillington.
In 1961, Donald started his racing career racing a midget, then he later raced sprint cars. From 1969 to 1978, Donald raced a #69 modified stock car.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Marian, are three children: Vicki Ely (Michael), Donald Kreitz, Jr. (Linda), and Lori Cremer (Thomas), all of Sinking Spring. Other survivors include, five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
Also surviving are two siblings: Paul Kreitz, Jr. and Eugene Kreitz (Wendy). He was predeceased by his sister, Virginia Hummer.
The family will receive friends and family at Kuhn Funeral Home, West Reading on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 from 6:00-8:00 pm.
