Obituary for Elizabeth A. LaMarca
Elizabeth Ann "Betsy" (Keiper) LaMarca passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Russell LaMarca with whom she shared forty wonderful years of marriage before his passing in 2001. Betsy, 86, a daughter of the late Elmer and Edna Keiper, was born in Reading.
Betsy was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother. She is survived by two daughters; Cindy Albrecht of Sinking Spring, and Marybeth Scoboria of Exeter Township, wife of Robert. Betsy greatly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren Russell, Elizabeth, Alyssa, Sophia, Luke and Christopher, and her great-grandchildren Claire, Lucas and Jaxson, who she showered with love and affection. She was preceded in death by siblings Dorothy, Alice, Elmer and Eleanor.
Betsy was a lifelong resident of Berks County, where she and Russell raised their two daughters. She was a graduate of Gov. Mifflin High School. For many years, Betsy and Russell owned and operated the former Brewery Inn in Reading, a signature dining destination that featured homemade Italian food served family style. The LaMarca family worked together to create the unique atmosphere of The Brewery Inn, with Betsy running the front of the house, Russell cooking, and their two daughters waitressing, creating many fond memories for them and their dedicated customers.
Betsy enjoyed spending time with her family, playing bridge with lifelong friends, and her beloved dog, Percy.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2022, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. A service will be held at 10:30 a.m. with burial to follow at Gethsemane Cemetery. Condolences may be expressed at www.kuhnfunerahomes.com.
