Obituary for Emerita Sepulveda

Emerita Sepulveda, age 81, loving mother of five, grandmother of nine, and great grandmother of eighteen, passed away peacefully in her home on September 30th, 2022 after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s. Emerita was born on September 25th, 1941 in the beautiful island of Guayanilla, Puerto Rico.

Emerita was a hard worker. She devoted much of her childhood to taking care of her siblings. She also worked for Tyson Foods for 20 plus years from where she later retired. In 2000, Emerita completed the four year Bible Institute Program at Pentecostal Church of God and continued to share her love for the Lord throughout the remainder of her life. Emerita was a creator. She loved writing her own songs and preparing sermons that saved many souls for Christ. Her voice provided comfort and hope. She also had a love for sewing and would create her own clothing for her and her family. Emerita was able to fulfill one of her lifelong dreams of traveling to Jerusalem. She was able to visit the tomb of Christ and experience firsthand where our Savior gave his one and only son, so that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Emerita had a heart of gold and the love of God was shown through everything she did. Emerita loved her family dearly even if she had a tough way of showing it. Her great big smile and contagious laugh will be missed by many. Rest in Jesus.

“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.” 2 Timothy 4-7
