Obituary for Emma Jane Baer (Snyder)

Emma Jane Baer, 89, formerly of West Wyomissing, passed away at Mifflin Court on Thursday, March 4, 2021.

Born in Shoemakersville, she was the daughter of the late Homer and Dorothy (Leibensperger) Snyder.

Emma graduated from Perry Township High School in 1949 and Kutztown State College with a bachelor's degree in Education in 1953.

She was employed as an art teacher at Wilson School District for 30 years until her retirement in 1993. She was loved by her peers and students alike.

Emma is survived by her two daughters, Korie L. (Larry) Sandridge of Sinking Spring and Kristie L. (Matthew) Zielinski of Wyomissing. She is also survived by two grandsons, Dr. Brian C. Sandridge, Columbus OH and Andrew (Kendie) Sandridge, Perryville MD.

Emma enjoyed traveling to the Christmas Markets of Germany, Austria, London, and Paris by way of the Concorde, and cruising on Queen Mary II. She instilled the love of the Indian River Bay and Delaware in her daughters and grandsons. She became an avid golfer after retirement and taught her grandsons the game.
