Eric W. Schaffer, 46, passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2020, in his Reading home. Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of William and Mary Ellen (Dougherty) Schaffer, and the loving husband of Stephanie (Dutka) Schaffer.

Eric was one of the hardest workers you would ever met, and helped everyone and anyone he could, from auctioneers to construction workers, to every friend in need. He literally would give you the shirt off his back.

Eric had a heart of gold, deeply loving his wife and kids. A true Philadelphian, he also loved all of the hometown teams: the Phillies, Eagles, Sixers and Flyers. Some of his best times were when he would drive around in his car, taking people new places and experiencing new things.

In addition to his wife, Eric is survived by his children: daughters Erica and Mary, and sons Nathaniel, Eric Jr., Jacob and Kaleb. Also surviving are his “big brothers”: Joey, Bobby, Billy and David, and his step-brother Matthew.
