Obituary for Francis G. Gachomba
Born on October 20, 1950 in Uasin Gishu county, Francis Gitundu Gachomba fondly known to many, was the third born child of the late Peter Ng’aru, the late Martha Mwihaki and the step mom Miriam Wanjiku of Shauri Yako, Eldoret. He was married to Annah Wangechi, and he was the father to Peter Ng’aru Gachomba (USA), Martha Mwihaki Gachomba, Peter Ngaru Kamau and Peter Ngaru Gachomba Sr. Son-in-law to the late John Wagura. He was born in a family of seventeen (17). His siblings include the late James Chomba, Margaret Mukami, the late Elizabeth Wanjiru, Late Raymond Njuguna Ngaru, Ezekiel Karanja (USA), Joseph Gichora, Dorcas Warigia, late Edward Kimani and late Grace Njeri. Joyce Nyokabi, Ann Mukami, Suleiman Chomba, George Karugu (GG), Betty Warigia, Joseph Njuguna, and Grace Wairimu.
Francis met his sweetheart Annah Wangechi and got married under the Kikuyu Customary Law in 1990. They later solemnized their marriage at Lutheran Church Reading PA in 2013. Their union was blessed with 4 children namely; Peter Ngaru Kamau, Peter Ngaru Gachomba Snr, Martha Mwihaki Gachomba, Peter Ngaru Gachomba Jr. They are blessed with 3 grandchildren namely; Jesse, Justin and Waithera. He is father in-law to Juliet Masiga.
Francis established himself as statute businessman in Nairobi. His passion and hard work in business saw him become a partner in a real estate firm with Nderu Kagombe and owned a kiosk at Hilton hotel Nairobi among many other ventures in Nairobi and Eldoret. He thereafter expanded to Kampala Uganda when he moved in the early 70s and excelled in his businesses. He relocated back to Kenya after dictator Idi Amin overthrew the government of the then Ugandan President Milton Obote. He started a partnership business with his brother Ezekiel Karanja in Voi town.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, September 10, 2022 at Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., 5153 Kutztown Rd., Temple PA 19560, with burial to follow at Berks County Memorial Garden.
