Obituary for Gail L. Schaeffer
Gail Lois Schaeffer, 78, passed away November 28, 2020, in her Blandon residence.
Born in Wellsboro, PA, she was the daughter of Francis C. Johnson and Emma L. Trowbridge(Jonhson)
Gail was a graduate of Cowanesque Valley High School.
Since 1976 to 1993, Gail raised her 3 daughters as a single mother in Sabinsville, Pa. She was a
hardworking, kind, generous and giving mother. Gail was always smiling, happy and willing to help
anyone that needed a helping hand.
Prior to moving to Berks County, PA in 1993, she was employed by the Green Home, Wellsboro, PA as a
Certified Nursing Assistant for 20 years. Later she focused her time as a Cashier at Boyers Market in
Fleetwood, PA, house wife and mother.
In 1996 she became the beloved wife of Ralph H. Schaeffer, with whom she celebrated 24 years of
marriage.
Gail’s hobbies included: crocheting, drawing, sketching, painting by number pictures, adult coloring
books and solving crossword puzzles. She enjoyed cooking and baking for family gatherings.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children, Victoria L. Haas, Blandon, PA; Carla S.
Taylor, Meza, AZ; and Marchelle M. Haas, Germania, PA; two step-children, Michael Schaeffer and
Michelle Schwab. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Douglas E. Stone Jr., Paul A. Popovich Jr.,
Morgan Taylor, Raimie Taylor, Jarryed Wallace, and Brittnay Wallace; five great-grandchildren, Avia
Stone, Bryant Stone, Soffie Stone, Carter Stone, and Alivia Taylor, and brother, Murray Johnson.
Gail was predeceased by her two siblings, Roger Johnson and Donna Johnson.
