Obituary for Gary William Redner

Gary William Redner, 55, died March 9, 2008, in his Lower Heidelberg residence.
Born in Queens, N.Y., he was the son of Earl W. Redner, Wyomissing, and the late Mary E. (Germond) Redner.
He was the Executive Vice President of Procurement for Redner’s Warehouse Markets, Inc. for 36 years, last working on Friday. He left a lasting impression with his employees and vendors alike due to his hard work and dedication to his family business.
Gary loved playing the drums, beginning to play at age ten. He played backup for Bruce Springsteen and after taking some time off, he played in the Philly area for the past two years. He was a master griller and loved his dog, Tucker.
He was a member of St. Ignatius Roman Catholic Church, Whitfield.
Gary is survived by his former wife, Deborah L. (Kerr) Redner, Wyomissing; his son, Gary M., husband of Janie A. (Hitscherich) Redner, Wyomissing; and his daughter, Casey L. Redner, Sinking Spring. He is also survived by his brother, Richard, husband of Elaine Redner, Sinking Spring; and his sister, Chere, widow of Richard Kelley, Mt. Pleasant, SC. Two grandchildren, Kerr Redner and Kayla Redner also survive him. Gary and Janie are also expecting another child.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 11 a.m. in St. Ignatius R.C. Church, Whitfield. Burial will be in Leesport Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 9:30 to 11 a.m. in the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 498 Bellevue Avenue, Reading, PA 19605.
