Obituary for George B. Columbo

George B. Columbo, 66, of Shillington, passed away after a tragic motorcycle accident in Sinking Spring on Saturday, July 9, 2022. A lifelong native of Reading, George was the son of Anna (Morgan) and the late Harold Columbo.

George will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Known for his friendly, out-going personality and infectious smile, he touched many people’s lives. He gave willingly of his time, energy, talent, and heart to help anyone with any project or problem. His generous and kind spirit was felt by everyone he came in contact with.

George attended Reading High School. He was an avid basketball player. Empowered by his entrepreneurial mindset and ambition, George owned and operated several successful companies, including Columbo's Same Day Service and Parcon Express Freight.

Left to treasure George’s memory are his children, Bridgett Molina (Frank) of Reading and Trevor Columbo (Joellie) of Temple; grandchildren Alyssandra and Jaden Molina and Keilah, Kiancsi, and Juju Freytiz; his mother, Anna Bieber (Karl) of Mt. Penn; and siblings: Mark Columbo, NC; Roxanne Seiger (Thomas), FL; Harold “Charlie” Columbo (Danielle), FL; and Heather Miller (Jason), PA. He is also survived by his loving companion of the last three years, Karen Schreiber.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made towards a bench and tree to be placed at Jim Dietrich Park in George’s memory and may be sent to Muhlenberg Township, Attn: Heather Carter, 210 George Street, Reading, PA, 19605.

Friends and family are welcome to gather for a Celebration of Life on Friday, July 22, 2022, from 3:30 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Jim Dietrich Park, Pavilion One, 4899 Stoudts Ferry Bridge Rd, Reading, PA 19605.
