Obituary for Gladys B. Walton
On January 10, 1939, the late John Henry Walton and the late Ruth Olivia Jones-Walton was blessed with their third child, Gladys Bernice Walton. Gladys ran her race and finished the battle. The Lord called her home to Glory on Sunday, February 27, 2022.
Born in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, Gladys was the third child of twelve children of which ten preceded her in death. Gladys was blessed with seven children whom she loved dearly. Her eldest is Lloyd Grant, Letreese, Patience, Scott, Kevin, Drew Allan, and Curtis.
Gladys grew up in Pottstown, where she received her education in the Pottstown School District. After completing school, she relocated to Reading, Pennsylvania and was employed at Rockwell International for 39 years until retirement. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, Reading.
Gladys is survived by five sons, Lloyd Grant (Valderez), Scott (Stephanie), Kevin, Drew Allan (Bridget), and Curtis, two daughters, Letreese and Patience (Robert), one sister, Barbara Jean Walton, thirteen grandchildren that she adored, Jamilla, Lloyd, Robert, Evoni, Alana, Michael, Jenna, Darquan, Brytelle, Kishon, Jazmin, Brock, and Richard, twenty-nine great grandchildren, a special niece Diane Adams, who nursed and cared for her, dear to her heart Janice, Sherry, Robin , Nina, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, March 5, 2022 at 10 a.m. in New Hope Baptist Church, 621 Church St., Reading, PA 19601 with burial to follow at Berks County Memorial Gardens.
