Obituary for Harry Reese Stiller
Harry Stiller, 83, of Spring Township, passed away surrounded by family on July 20, 2023. Born in 1939 in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Raymond J. and Ruth M. Stiller and the loving husband of Margaret (Lamey) Stiller.
Harry was a 1957 graduate of Coughlin High School, Wilkes-Barre, and an Eagle Scout. He was a varsity wrestler for East Stroudsburg University, and earned a Masters in Education.
Harry was a teacher for 35 years in the Reading School District. He coached age group swimming at the Reading YMCA and the Reading Marlins, a championship age group swim team for Reading youth that he helped found, which became a training ground for a generation of Reading High swimmers. He later became active in area Boy Scouts, and was President of the Berks County Dog Training Club were he taught obedience and puppy kindergarten.
Harry will be remembered for his laugh and dedication to his family, community, and pets. He loved to watch old movies and vacation with fellow dog lovers at a camp in Vermont.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Margaret Stiller; sons, Samuel R., husband of Missy (Maclure) Stiller, of State College, and Michael B. husband of April (Kao) Stiller, of Yonkers, NY. He is also survived by four loving grandchildren: Taylor, Carly, Reese, and Natalie.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, 739 Penn Ave, West Reading, PA 19611.
