Obituary for Helen M. Fisher
Helen M. Fisher, 97, of Wyomissing, passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2023, in the care of Complete Care at Berkshire Center. She was the loving widow of Donald G. Fisher.
Born in Reading to the late Lester and Mary Blankenbiller, Helen worked as a Presser for Temple Apparel while raising her family with Donald. A devoted mother and grandmother, Helen raised two sons.
Helen was a breast cancer survivor who battled the terrible disease in the early 90’s after having lost her beloved husband. She was able to live independently for many years, and her family credited her daily walks around her neighborhood for her long life.
Helen was a long-time member of Calvary United Methodist Church of Berkshire Heights.
Helen is survived by her son, Ronald Fisher, husband of Karen S. Fisher, of Exeter, and her grandsons, Ryan Fisher and Jared Fisher. In addition to her husband and her parents, Helen was predeceased by: her son, David A. Fisher, who is survived by his wife, Karen L. Fisher of Wyomissing; her brother, Leroy; and her sisters, Rosie, Betty, Dorothy, and Eleanor.
Services for Helen will be held on Monday, February 6, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc, 739 Penn Ave., West Reading, with committal to follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
