Obituary for Henry D. Kulp

Henry D. Kulp, 73, husband of the late Francine L. (Tyson) Kulp, passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2023, at Lehigh Valley Hospital with his loving family by his side.

He was a son of the late Russell and Dorothy (Bickel) Kulp.

Anyone that knew Henry will think of his happy-go-lucky demeanor, big smile, and wonderful laugh. Henry had the ability to speak to anyone about anything, but if you knew him, he always had a story to share, and told it like a secret that was only meant for you, it made you feel special. His love for his family was shown by being there, lending a hand, and with his food. Henry was the chef behind Sunday dinners for his family, whether it was
burgers & fries, chicken nuggets, or his famous chocolate cake, he brought everyone together and never expected anything in return. Apple dumplings for a bake sale or peanut butter tandy cakes for Lisa’s salon, he always was there to help and bring a smile to your face.

Henry’s interests were vast, from his long extensive baseball coaching career to playing fast pitch softball to fishing. But none of these compared to his interest in and love of his grandchildren. Henry was seen at every event the grandchildren had from the moment they were born. Sporting events, grandparent’s days, birthdays, graduations, and everything in between, Henry was there and willing to share his thoughts and feelings with
everyone that would listen. He was the proudest Poppy there was. Henry enjoyed many other simple things in his life, like watching the Phillies, Sixers, and Eagles or his favorite television shows Walker, Texas Ranger and Yellowstone. Henry enjoyed different casinos and was known to have a scratch-off or two in his pocket. Every
summer, he would love walking the beach in Ocean City, NJ while on vacation with Francine. He was a simple man that didn’t need much, that’s probably why he was loved by so many and will be missed by many more. A simple man that when he was asked how he was, his typical response was, “fair to midland”. That was Henry.

Henry is survived by his children: Lisa Trego (husband Kenneth), Jaime Tyson (husband Aaron) and a son Christopher D. Kulp. His siblings: Kenneth Kulp, Russell Kulp and Doris Manerella; grandchildren: Blake Pascal, Jayden Trego, Bryan Trego, Madison Tyson and Teagan Tyson. A niece: Brandi Brown (husband Craig), along with many other nieces, nephews, and friends. He also survived by his beloved dog, Zeus.
