Obituary for James Kline Biemesderfer

James Kline Biemesderfer, 89, passed away on Friday, February 10, 2023 at the Highlands in Wyomissing.

Born September 6, 1933 in Penryn, he was a son of the late Robert and Edna (Kline) Biemesderfer. After graduating Middletown High School in Dauphin County in 1951, Jim attended Temple University and graduated the School of Pharmacy in 1955. He served in the US Army from 1956 to 1957 before accepting a position with W.B. Boyer Pharmacy where he worked until 1973. He was employed at Community General Hospital from 1973 until it closed in 1997. During his last decade there, he was the Director of Pharmacy. He was employed by various pharmacies after that, including the Medicine Shoppe in Reading, until his retirement in 2007.

Jim was a past president and life member of the Berks County Pharmacists Association, as well as a former secretary of the organization; a past president and life member of the Reading Civic Opera Society; and a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

He is survived by a dear companion of 20 years, Nancy McNabb; his brother, Robert Biemesderfer, husband of Shirley, of Colorado Springs, CO; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by wife, Joan "Jo" (Bitner) Biemesderfer, with whom he shared 40 years of marriage before her passing in 1998.

Services will be private. Interment to follow at Penryn Cemetery, Penryn, PA.
