James A. “Jimmy” Scolastico, 68, formerly of Reading, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 28, 2018, in his Berks Heim residence. Born January 16, 1950, he was a son of the late Vincent J. and Emma (Salvador) Scolastico.
Jimmy was an outgoing, lovable person; everyone who met him, immediately fell in love with him. He loved to sing, and was especially fond of Lawrence Welk and Larry Ferrari. Jimmy was a longtime member of St. Margaret’s Roman Catholic Church in Reading.
He is survived by a niece, Jennifer Duffin, Mohnton, and two nephews: John Scolastico, Jr., West Lawn, and Jamie Scolastico, Sinking Spring, as well as great nephews and a great niece.
He was predeceased by a brother, John Scolastico, Sr., who died in 2016.
The Scolastico family would like to thank the wonderful caregivers at Berks Heim for their compassion and care of Jimmy during his time living there. You are all truly angels.
A Celebration of Jimmy’s life will be held at 11:00am Tuesday, December 4, at Christ Lutheran Church, 1301 Luzerne Street, Reading, followed by burial in Gethsemane Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday from 10:00-11:00am in the church.
