Obituary for Jeanne Perkins

Jeanne Winona (DeMuth) Perkins, 101, died peacefully of natural causes at the Highlands at Wyomissing on Saturday, April 24. Born in Dover Ohio, August 25, 1919, the oldest daughter of the late Estelle (Geiser) and Edward Arden DeMuth, Jeanne graduated from Sharon (PA) high school and worked as a medical secretary.

On April 18, 1942, she married Harold “Hal” William Perkins (former Executive Director of Penn State- Berks) who died October 10, 2010. She was the mother of Susan Elizabeth, Trumansburg, NY; Edward “Ted” Lewis (Rebecca Citrenbaum Perkins), Bala Cynwyd, PA; and Timothy Richard (Bonnie Andrews), Milwaukee, WI); grandmother of William Scott Reed Garner, Spokane WA; Elisabeth Leigh Perkins Garner (Travis Young), State College PA; Noah Andrews Perkins (Peggy Caufield Perkins), Milwaukee WI; Julia Andrews Perkins (Noam Feigel), New York City; Tobie Nell Perkins, Rock Hill, SC; and Marina Cate Perkins, Bala Cynwyd, PA; great-grandmother to Julia and Laura Garner, Spokane, WA; aunt to many nieces, nephews, grand and great-grand nieces and nephews.

Known for her kindness, generosity, intelligence and faith, she will be much missed.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2021, at 11:00 AM at the Lincoln Park Community United Methodist Church, at address below. Respectfully, anyone who has not received the Covid vaccine is asked to wear a mask.
