Obituary for Jeffrey R. Torok
Jeffrey R. Torok, 52, of Wyomissing, passed away on January 15, 2023, at Reading Hospital.
Born in West Reading, he was a son of Ronald L. and Susan F. (Foley) Torok, Wyomissing.
He was a graduate of Wyomissing Area High School in 1988 and attended Reading Area Community College and Kutztown University.
Jeff loved to cook and served in that capacity at Spruce Manor and Graterford Prison. Later he found his true calling as a counselor at Sick Recovery.
A standout athlete, Jeff scored 73 high school goals which at the time was a school record, was an all county selection, and led his Spartan soccer team to the state semifinal his senior year. He was the first Wyomissing wrestler to win a district championship in wrestling. Jeff accomplished that feat in both his junior and senior years at the 119 weight class.
In addition to cooking, Jeff enjoyed camping and running. Most important to him was his family.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his daughters, Kamryn A. Torok and Kyra A. Torok, Lincoln Park, and his step-son, Connor Beck, Lower Heidelberg Twp. There are three siblings: Deborah S. (Derek) Martz, Shillington; Marcia L. (Matthew) Brown, Sinking Spring; and Matthew Lee (Carol) Torok, San Antonio, TX; and two nephews, Jaxen P. Torok and Kaden L. Torok. His former spouse, Tressa Torok, also survives him.
A visitation will be held Friday, January 20, 2023, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. with a service to begin at 7 p.m.at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. Contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in Jeff's memory. Condolences may be expressed at www.kuhnfuneralhomes.com.
