Obituary for John Anthony Czarnecki

John Anthony Czarnecki, 83, of Lebanon, PA, passed away on July 26, 2022, at his Cornwall residence. He was the devoted husband of Virginia Carolyn Czarnecki (Moyer) with whom he shared 64 loving years of marriage.

Born in Reading, PA, he was the son of the late Anthony Czarnecki and Sophie Liptak. He was brother to Robert (Ethel), Suzanne, and the late James.

He graduated from Mt. Penn High School in 1957 and served as Class President. He earned his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering at Drexel University. He worked as an aircraft mechanic at Teterboro Airport and at Boeing Vertol before working for over 20 years at Ford Motor Company. While working with Ford, John was awarded multiple patents and obtained his professional engineering license. He retired in 1994.

John was a connoisseur of knowledge and loved learning for learning’s sake. He was an avid hobbyist, enjoying many pursuits over his lifetime.

John adored his family and was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Left to treasure his memory are his wife, Virginia; two children, John M. Czarnecki (Penny) and Lori Selover (Dave); three grandchildren, John P. Czarnecki (Jill), Jessica Selover, and Eric Selover (Alison); two step-grandchildren, Michael Haight (Robin) and Tammy Klaproth; five great grandchildren: Jason, Jenna, Makayla, Hailey, and Genora; three step great grandchildren: Monica, Samantha, and Laura; and many nieces and nephews.

A short graveside service will be held on Friday, August 5, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Laureldale Cemetery, 4631 Pottsville Pike, Reading, PA 19605. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc. is entrusted with arrangements. Condolences may be expressed at kuhnfuneralhomes.com.
