Obituary for John William Hofer
John William Hofer, 80, of Reading, passed away, August 21, 2022.
Born in Cincinnati, OH, he was the proud son of the late Raymond and Hazel (Hofstetter) Hofer. John graduated from Western Hills High School in the class of 1959. He was employed as a superintendent at Glidden. He loved watching old Western movies, Eagles and Phillies. Also always could find him outside riding his John Deere tractor.
He is survived by his four children and their spouses, Theresa Grejdus (Nick Grejdus), John Hofer (Debbie Hofer), Lisa Sutton (Doug Sutton), and James Hofer (Nghia Tran); nine grandchildren, Jeffery, Christopher, Ryan, Chad, Joseph, Alex, Andrew, Zachary and Kelly; fourteen great grandchildren; and two sisters, Marian Hofer and Dorothy Brumfield.
John was predeceased by his wife, Jo Ann Hofer (2015).
Funeral services will be Thursday, August 25, 2022, at 12 p.m. at Kuhn Funeral Home, 739 Penn Ave., West Reading with burial at Gethsemane Cemetery, Laureldale to follow. The viewing will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave. West Reading, PA 19611
