John "Jack" W. Chelius, 93, formerly of Reading, passed away February 28, 2021, in Berkshire Center.

He was the husband of Loretta "Sue" Chelius who preceded his death in January of 2021.

Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Mark B. and Dorothy L. (Miller) Chelius.

Jack graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1946. He honorably served his country in the Korean War as a member of the U.S Navy. After his time serving his country, he became a master plumber and was the owner/operator of Chelius Plumbing and Heating for 60 years.

Throughout his life, Jack touched countless lives through his incredibly outgoing personality, which earned him countless friends. He would never forget a birthday.

In addition to his parents and his wife Sue he was also predeceased by his beloved daughter, Lori, and sisters: Dorothy Chelius, Louise Wertman, and Lucy LaRue.

He was the father of six children: John W. Chelius Jr., West Reading; Matt Chelius, husband of Jackie, Mechanicsburg; Mary Smith, wife of Dan Smith, Warminster; James Chelius, Reading; Lori Lewis (deceased), and her surviving spouse, James Lewis, Peach Tree City, GA and Mark Chelius, fiance of Eileen McKeone, West Lawn. When one hears the word "smile" one immediately thinks of Jack
Chelius. He had an infectious smile which transformed all who came in contact with him.Jack was one of my best friends since high school (over74 yrs ago). What a delight it was that he chose my sister Sue for his bride. Besides Sue,Jack's children and grand children
were the lights of his life., and they adored him.
.In the last few years Sue and Jack .suffered much medically,
So it is fitting that they should be united in their entrance to heaven.
Both of them will be missed by multitudes.. May they rest in peace.
Since condolences to all the family. May God grant themthe grace to accept His will. May God bless you always.
With much love,
Jack Ermentrout

To the best Grandad (Pop) there ever was,
You are going to besides by so many. Wish I could have seen you one last time or had one last phone call to tell you I love you. I will never forget all the great stories you told and all the cowboy and Indian movies you watched. Not to mention you had the TV blaring at all times. You were so loved by so many and I hate that you had to go alone. I love you so much pop and cannot wait until the day I see you again. Now go spend time with your baby girl/daughter. Love you so much, Your Granddaughter, Olivia
