John Patrick Jenkins, 83, beloved husband of Margaret “Peggy” (McCartney) Jenkins passed away Saturday, January 14, 2023 surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Scranton, PA, on June 20, 1939, John was the son of the late John Bernard and Sarah Ann (Laffey) Jenkins.

John grew up in Taylor, PA and after graduating from Taylor High School, went on to earn a BS in Electrical Engineering from University of Detroit. He worked for both RCA and IBM, having retired from IBM after 30 years. He and Peggy also enjoyed traveling, taking trips to locations such as Australia, New Zealand, Spain, England, Ireland, Wales, and many other countries in Europe and making great friends along the way.

John’s favorite location was Ocean City, NJ where he and Peggy made so many great memories and friends. He shared his love for the beach by teaching his kids and grandkids how to jump waves. In addition to travel, John loved to read books, quench his ongoing thirst for knowledge through the internet, and had a great sense of humor.
