Obituary for John B. Mastrangelo

John B. Mastrangelo, 92, passed away on Thursday, January 24, 2019, in his Wernersville home. He was married for 59 incredible years to Anna L. (Lesagonicz) Mastrangelo, who passed away earlier this month on January 4. Their family takes great comfort knowing they are reunited again. Born in Reading, John was a son of the late Rocco and Louise (Pepe) Mastrangelo.

John attended Reading Central Catholic High School and Wyomissing Polytechnic Institute, before proudly serving in the US Navy during World War II, with the Amphibious Force in the South Pacific. Following discharge, he returned to WPI, and then was an operating engineer at Western Electric/Lucent/AT&T for 34 years, retiring in 1990.

Family always came first to John, and he loved traveling to Italy to reunite with his many family members who lived there. He was a devoted member of St. Francis de Sales R.C. Parish, Robesonia.

John is survived by a daughter Lisa Ann Mastrangelo, Pembroke Pines, Fla, sons Harold L. Drexel, husband of Teresa, Mohnton, and James D. Drexel, husband of Sandra, Wernersville. He is also survived by his grandchildren: James, Melissa and Jenna Drexel, Carlos and Chiara Cava, Holly Reichardt, Angela McKerns; and his great grandchildren: Elizabeth Mohn and Alexander McKerns.

Also surviving are his sisters: Deletta, Wyomissing, and Mary Lou, Northampton, PA; and his brothers: Frank, Riverview Park, and Rocco, Ephrata.
