Obituary for John "Jack" Mulherin Jr.

John “Jack” Mulherin Jr., 70, of Sinking Spring passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 4, 2022.

Born December 7, 1951, in Philadelphia, Jack was the eldest child of the late John W. and Joan (Davis) Mulherin.

Jack was a graduate of Cardinal Dougherty High School in Philadelphia. He served in Vietnam then continued his military career in the US Air Force, retiring in November 1990.

After ending his military career, Jack moved to Reading. He continued his education graduating from Alvernia College. He was most recently employed at Allied Universal.

Jack was a true Irishman—always quick with a story or ready to tell a corny joke. He made friends everywhere he went. He didn’t want a service when he passed; he only asked that his friends have a drink to his memory.

Jack was happiest spending time with his daughter, Katrina. She was the light of his life and the beacon that kept him going. Being an “older” parent, his greatest wish was to see her graduate from college, an event he proudly witnessed as she graduated Summa Cum Laude at Duquesne University just three weeks before his passing.

In addition to Katrina, Jack is survived by her mother and his best friend, Michelle Mulherin; a son and three granddaughters in Arizona; and four sisters. In addition to his parents, Jack was predeceased by his brother, Sean, and sister, Jennifer.

Interment shall be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be offered to a veterans’ organization of your choice. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., is entrusted with arrangements. Condolences may be expressed at kuhnfuneralhomes.com.
