Obituary for Kenneth C. Steiner Sr.

Kenneth C. Steiner, Sr., 87, of Blandon, passed away in his residence during the early hours of March 8, 2023. He was the loving husband of Anita L. (Neher) Steiner, with whom he shared 61 years of marriage.

Born in Reading to the late Carl J. and Florence (Doskus) Steiner, Ken graduated from Reading High School ’53. He served his country in the United States Army, and he later retired from ATT, formerly Western Electric’s Bell Labs.

A man of great faith, when he was no longer able to attend Mass at Holy Guardian Angels Church, Ken would watch Channel’s Six broadcast of Holy Mass every Sunday morning at 5:30AM.

Ken enjoyed traveling with his wife, Anita, especially to the Caribbean. He had a creative mind and could fix just about anything. Artistically inclined, Ken enjoyed painting and working with ceramics. He developed a technique for creating three dimensional paintings by combining canvas with clay. Ken also served as the State Director of the Jim Beam Bottle Club.

In addition to his wife, Anita, Ken’s memory will be treasured by their children: Kenneth C. Steiner Jr. (Sharon) of Bowmansville; Robert M. Miller (Beverly) of Knauers; Karl J. Steiner (Christine) of Brewton, AL; and Jeff S. Steiner (companion Traci Delso) of Blandon. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Natalie (Jason) Hafer; Eli (Tiffany) Steiner; Mellisa (Gerald) Anderson; Ben (Jessica) Steiner; Victoria (Jeremy) Motter; Andy (Meg) Miller; Zach (Jen) Miller; Jeff (Ashton) Steiner; Katie (Justin) Racine; and Kelsey Steiner; and 21 much beloved great grandchildren. Ken was predeceased by his daughter, Judy Surkin, and his sisters, Sandra Miller and Justine McMann.

Services for Ken will be private at the convenience of his family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to Shriners Hospital for Children. Kuhn Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc, is entrusted with arrangements. Condolences may be expressed at kuhnfuneralhomes.com.
